Roman Signal Tower Blender, GIMP May 2006
A Roman signal tower model. I do most of my work in 3ds Max, but created this in Blender, to see what I could do in that package.The textures were painted in the GIMP, and the final image was rendered in Yafray, using a Sun lamp and Paul Debevec's Eucalyptus Grove HDRI. Here's an alternative view of the tower model with more of a landscape:
